Author Elizabeth Winthrop Alsop will discuss her memoir, Daughter of Spies: Wartime Secrets, Family Lies. During this talk, Elizabeth will tell us how the story shifts from the whirl of a WWII romance in England into a portrait of the Washington, D.C. elite of the 1950s and ‘60s—and how Elizabeth collected the details. She will also discuss the challenges of dealing with family alcoholism, caring for a parent with dementia and the understanding that comes with maturity.
